Senior Citizens Tuition Waiver

The Rhode Island General Assembly has enacted legislation granting a tuition waiver to certain income qualified permanent RI residents who are at least 60 years of age on a space available basis. Certain Rhode Island residents who are at least 60 years of age may apply for a senior citizen waiver of tuition. Offered at:

Rhode Island College

Community College of Rhode Island

 

Senior Citizens Tuition Waiver Requirements:

  1. You must be a Rhode Island resident at least 60 years of age.
  2. You must complete and submit the Senior Citizen Means Test form (available from the school), signed copy of your current Federal tax return with W-2’s and a copy of RI driver’s license or state ID to the Bursar’s Office. You must meet the conditions imposed by the Means Test.
  3. Waiver approval is based on space availability. Registration may not occur prior to the designated waiver registration date, typically the last day prior to the start of the semester.
  4. You must submit payment of required fees not covered by the waiver.
